Critical conversations

As humans we have an innate need to be connected in meaningful and important ways with other people.

However 21st century living often diminishes and limits the possibilities for this to happen. Often in the workplace we are so focused on productivity and results. This leads to the creation of superficial meaningless and unsatisfactory  relationships with others at work.

In these environments we are often scared to reveal our true selves for fear of judgment and criticism which can leave us feeling isolated and disconnected. When we are disconnected our systems become dysregulated and stop functioning effectively therefore diminishing our wellbeing.

The simple answer is we need to connect by talking

Tough Through Tender is a transformational learning programme that creates a roadmap to enable new ways to succeed in the corporate world that empowers all stakeholders, from associates to leaders to senior leaders to Chief Executives.  We facilitate the creation of a mastery climate that will enhance well-being and improve performance. OVERVIEW

A Transformational Learning Programme

Work life is challenging, often difficult, sometimes boring and always demanding. The challenges we have seen over the last few years have been: Burn out, Job retention levels, people feeling unheard / under-valued /  lacking direction and purpose.  

Success is often elusive but ultimately satisfying when it is achieved. All people work tirelessly to find it but often feel deflated, humiliated, isolated and belittled in the process – but it doesn’t have to be like this.

Our programme is an innovative, interactive learning experience that cultivates a cultural shift. We move away from old limiting ways in which work  is anchored in destructive, controlling behaviours and emotional constriction. 

Our programme aims to create a roadmap to enable new ways to succeed at work that empowers all stakeholders.

CREATING BALANCE

We recognise that by instilling and developing both ideals of being ‘tough’ and ‘tender’ we can achieve success by enhancing individual functioning both within and beyond work. The primary focus of the programme will be to consider the elements of ‘tough’ and ‘tender’ through increased psychological flexibility, enabling more effective, purposeful, values guided action and enhancing emotional resilience. The programme also facilitates the creation of a mastery climate that will enhance well-being and improve performance.

PROGRAMME FOCUS

A skills based programme That creates cultural change and elevates performance 

  • Psychological flexibility is the ability to be present, open-up, and do what matters. Developing it enables individuals to respond effectively to challenges and develop a sense of meaning, purpose, and vitality
  • Emotional resilience is the capacity to cope and thrive in the face of adversity. Emotionally resilient individuals have lower levels of anxiety and depression, higher levels of wellbeing, as well as increased achievement both on and off the “pitch”
  • Purposeful behaviour strengthens focus, perseverance, assertiveness, and getting into ‘flow’
  • A mastery climate enhances self-directed learning, autonomy, goal setting, problem solving and excellence
